The Winter Time Trial – Round 1 – Results
Saturday’s time trial was certainly sponsored by rain…. (The canopy on my van was certainly my best asset today) A pretty horrid day for it but yet 5 plucky people turned up ready to set the first time of the season. All got round safe. Two new faces turned up and they seemed to be keen to have another go in a months time!! Hello all, Dont forget round 1 is tomorrow morning. Start how you mean to go on and set your alarms, eat your porridge and get your ‘yes i can’ head on!! Gateway Hill climb Sunday 18th October 2015
For the third year running our end of season hill climb took place up Childerditch lane, this isn’t a massively steep hill but it’s fairly long and you do have to measure your effort on this climb. Gateway Recreation Ride – Waltham Abbey – Saturday 3rd Oct
This Saturday, 3rd October, David Fish will be leading a recreational ride up the Lee Valley to Waltham Abbey. We’ll be meeting at Grays station at 08:30am and will take the train to Limehouse. Winter TT 2015/16
Well it’s raining and it’s cold which means one thing only, the Saturday morning winter time trials are back! Standard features apply, I will be time keeping and any Marshalls are gratefully received. For those who are reading this for the first time. Meet in bulphan hall car park and then it’s a smidgen under ten miles down fen lane and back up clay tie hill returning back over the start finish line. This is a great way to keep yourself ticking over the winter months. Always a Saturday morning, sign on at 9:15 first rider off at 9:30. Recreational Ride – Family Ride to Rainham Marshes – Sunday 6th Sep
This Sunday, 6th September, join Gateway, and ride leader David Fish, on a Family Ride to Rainham Marshes and back Meet up at the Civic Centre in Blackshots Lane in time for a 10.30 am start for a gentle paced ride over to the RSBP in Purfleet. Easy Ride – Sunday 9th August
Its my turn to lead the easy ride this Sunday 9 August: meet at Bulphan School car park in Fen Lane for a 9:30 depart. LADIES: come on down and try your first club outing! This is an ideal ride if you fancy having a go at a first club ride, but are worried about keeping up with our intermediate group. The pace of the ride will be determined by the slowest rider and we will regroup at the top of any hills (there will be a couple!). No-one will get left behind. There will be a café stop (so bring some cash). The distance will be c.36 miles Bulphan-to-Bulphan. Half Term (Time Trial) Report
Hello all, we’ve just passed the halfway mark in the Summer TT series and it’s looking good! We’ve had 34 different riders take part this year, and we’ve had 8 dry TT’s so far! Most riders have improved as the summer has gone on, with PB’s being posted nearly every week.
