It was dry, a slight breeze and pretty jolly chilly, this was made up for though with the wonderful blossoms beginning to burst all over. The Japanese name for this blossom season, apparently is ‘Sakura’. Coffee and cake etc and then Bob and … Read entire article »

SUNDAY ‘BROXBOURNE’ RIDE. 26.2.2023 by Jon Lane

To Broxbourne by train, taking us to a pleasant place from which to ride – cutting out the schlep – with Dave, Sharon, Tracy, Les and Jeff. A bit breezy and chilly, the wind from the north east and the temperature on a single digit… Setting off and manoeuvring around blocked bridges and road closures we made our way, heading south, onto the narrow, Lee Navigation tow path. Quite a few walkers and a few … Read entire article »

Saturday 11th Canal Ride by Jon Lane

Saturday 11th Canal Ride by Jon Lane

The Saturday 11th Canal Ride went pretty well… Dave, Tracy, Danny and me set off from Grays to Limehouse, meeting up with Terry, cycled through the real ‘East End’ to Whitechapel tube. The modest entrance, with outside the thriving market stalls, leads up the steps in to the Tardis like cavernous station. Seven levels down! We took the smart Elizabeth Line to Hayes and Harlington. Setting off along the Canal path Danny picked up a … Read entire article »
