Thurrock Cycle Training
The Travel Thurrock team at Thurrock Council has commissioned Trailnet to deliver a series of cycle training sessions for local residents. These will take place across the borough, with initial sessions scheduled in Purfleet, Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope. All sessions are led by qualified, experienced instructors and include an introduction to basic bike maintenance where we show you how to check your bike before riding. Whether you are looking to learn how to ride, wanting to improve your bike handling or gain confidence cycling in traffic, they have a session for you. Getting better, 9 riders this week, which was 9 more than I expected due to the weather looking a bit grim. It didn’t feel much like summer this evening as it was very grey and was threatening to rain. London’s oldest mountain bike race series returns to the Redbridge Cycle Centre (Hog Hill) for May – July weekly races London – Monday 12th May 2014 – Hackney GT cycle fashion label and event promoters proudly announce dates for the Hackney GT Beastway MTB summer series of weekly races at the Redbridge Cycle Centre (Hog Hill) from 21st May – 9th July 2014. Ford CC Go Race 1st May
May 1st heralded the first event Ford CC’s Go Race series, reduced this year to accommodate resurfacing of the test track, which will provide a super surface for 2015. Congratulations to the winners of the Gateway Cycling awards for 2013! A Christmas Message from the Chairman
It has been another cracking year for British cycling – two Tours de France in a row are enough to stir excitement and patriotism in the hearts of even the least competitive and most ardently recreational cyclists. Gateway Cycling has not missed out on this flush of enthusiasm. Our membership is up by about 50% compared to 2012 and in every branch of cycling the efforts of our members continue to increase. The roads around Thurrock are oft times awash with the distinctive blue colours of the club and more and more members are venturing further afield to display those colours in major sportives and other prominent events.
