2015 Membership Fees

2015 Membership Fees

Hello all Just a reminder that membership fees for 2015 will be due on 1st January, although these can be paid at any time from today. The constitution states that membership fees must be paid by the 10th April 2015 club meeting otherwise the membership becomes lapsed, although this in no way precludes later re-joining of the club. Jeff will be at the January club meeting to take your money, and I will also be there to make … Read entire article »

Gateway Xmas Awards Night 2014 – The Winners

Friday 12th December saw Gateway Cycling’s Christmas Award Night, under the capable stewardship of Chairman Gary, go off without a hitch. A good many members were present to partake of the food, drink and festivities including seven of our younger members who busily entertained themselves with the activities laid on. The Christmas raffle, held in aid of Macmillan, went down extremely well with many going home with some some great prizes – donated by Decathlon, Simon Alexander and our generous club members. We raised over £120 for this worthy cause. The Awards It’s been another great year for participation in our club events. We’ve had a fantastic turn-out and wish we could award all those that took part and supported. Alas we can only award the fastest, so for everyone else, chapeau! CTC #Funding4Cycling Campaign

Please take a moment to read this message from CTC about their #Funding4Cycling campaign and help all cyclists by taking the time to follow the www.funding4cycling.org.uk link and complete the form to make your voice heard. With the party conference season over and Parliament returning to Westminster it is more important than ever for UK cycling to make its voice heard. We are still waiting for the publication of the Department for Transport’s draft Cycling and Walking Delivery Plan. This document, promised in the wake of 2013’s All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group’s Get Britain Cycling report, has been consistently delayed and is now a year overdue. Despite this, the long awaited draft seems unlikely to include any commitment to the long term funding of at least £10 per head per person needed … Read entire article »

Gatway Summer Time Trial Series – week 14

Gatway Summer Time Trial Series – week 14

Well that’s another time trial series over with. This year we had 34 different riders take part over 14 weeks. The numbers were a little bit down on last year, but I think that the weather played a part in that as this summer was fairly wet, and it seemed like every Wednesday brought the threat of rain. Looking back at the results sheet we didn’t have a wet TT this year, although there were quite … Read entire article »
