Gatway Summer Time Trial Series – week 14

Well that’s another time trial series over with.

This year we had 34 different riders take part over 14 weeks. The numbers were a little bit down on last year, but I think that the weather played a part in that as this summer was fairly wet, and it seemed like every Wednesday brought the threat of rain. Looking back at the results sheet we didn’t have a wet TT this year, although there were quite a few with a westerly winds which seemed to affect the fast times as it results in a headwind along St Marys Lane.

This week we had nine riders. Trying it out for the first time were Vickie F, and Liam K, who both put up decent times for their first attempt. Well done to the pair of you. Vickie only just missed out on a 20mph average by 7 seconds, and Liam (who came to the TT with his dad Chris) will only get better as he gets older.
Only one PB was posted this week, and that was by Chris P who got in to the 18’s after many weeks of trying, nice one Chris.
Of the others, some of you looked disappointed with your times tonight, but it’s not easy doing this TT after a long day at work. Well done to you all (all 34 of you!) as everyone always gives it their best.
Thanks also go to Chris M for marshalling tonight.

The results have now been sorted into alphabetical order (first names). I haven’t sorted them into fastest time order as it wouldn’t be fair as it’s not a competition between riders, although there may be a printout of it floating about at the next club night! 🙂

Thank you to everyone who took part (riders, marshals, and spectators) over the last 14 weeks, seeing people achieve their targets makes it worthwhile running this event.

The next dates to look out for should be the club hill climb which normally takes place some time in October, and the winter time trial series which takes place once a month and starts in November.

Hopefully you’ll all be back for next summer’s series.

Thanks again
Dave C
