A CHILLY ‘COALHOUSE’ RIDE – SUNDAY 5.3.2023 by Jon Lane

Just a super little ride today folks. Dave with others from Blackshots to Coalhouse Fort ‘Engine Room’ café, via Chadwell and the backroads. I got there via Mucking and the sea wall. It was dry, a slight breeze and pretty jolly chilly, this was made up for though with the wonderful blossoms beginning to burst all over. The Japanese name for this blossom season, apparently is ‘Sakura’. Coffee and cake etc and then Bob and a few others headed off to Purfleet and elsewhere… Nice chat with a few visiting riders, not as regular as ourselves, seeking advice about new routes they could explore. Good luck to them. (-: Dave with his group rode back passing Condovers on to Tilbury, to check out a newly installed cycle path… Tracy, Terry and I took the Two Forts path towards Tilbury, alongside the river and the seawall. Big sky – Great! It was high tide and we thought we’d get muddy feet… but no – a bone dry ride homeward… A big thanks to everyone riding today. – Dave F, Tracy, Terry, Sharon, Les, Andy, Bob, Ivan and Alan. As always have a super week folks…
Cheers! 🙂
Jon Lane.
