Gateway Winter Events 2017
Please put the following dates in your diary and join Gateway Cycling for some Winter fun: Sunday 12th November Gateway Hill Climb Start from the bottom of Childerditch Lane at 09:45. Normal club ride to start from the car park once complete. There will be a group of us riding to the start from Bulphan at 09:30 or you can meet us at the start. Ride Report – Family Ride to Rainham Marshes
We were so lucky with the weather on Sunday, it was like a summers day. Temperatures were in the 20s and we were all in short-sleeves. Ride Report – Family Ride to Belhus Woods
On Sunday 24th September we had our family ride from Davy Down to Belhus Woods. The weather was absolutely perfect and the turnout was fantastic. We had a lovely ride through Davy Down, taking the hill up through the woods to South Ockendon and cutting through to cross the M25 near Belhus leisure centre. Club ride to the Blue Egg
On 20th August there will be a club ride to the Blue Egg This ride will be suitable for the Intermediate and Advanced groups and will be at a steady pace of 15-16mph. The distance of the ride is around 85 miles, Bulphan to Bulphan, so to prepare for this you should be aiming to complete a 75 mile ride by early August. We have a couple of family friendly recreation rides coming up which you may be interested in. Club Welfare Officer
Gateway Cycling still need someone to volunteer to be our Club Welfare Officer. The role is to promote the club/organisation’s policy and procedures for the protection of children and vulnerable adults. Over the last year the club’s junior membership has grown and this growth is expected to continue, especially as we now coach young people. Even without BC making a CWO mandatory it is still necessary for us to have someone in this role. If you want to be part of this club’s growth and continued success and this is a role you would be interested then please contact myself or the club secretary, or come talk to one of us at the next club night. Women’s Ride – 14 May 2017
Our second women’s ride will be out to Hyde Hall, which is a distance of approximately 37 miles, Bulphan to Bulphan. This will be a steady ride and no one will be left behind. There will be a cafe stop! Meet at Bulphan School car park at 8.45 for a 9.00am depart.
