Mid week ride 13th February

From Bob D. Eight riders left Orsett at 10am today ,this soon became nine as Dave R caught us,passed and then led from the front. As usual these days I gradually dropped back but was helped along as far as Corbetts Tey by Peter C where I needed to take the Sunnings lane shortcut to take a bit of a rest, this left Peter to complete the rest of the longer loop on his own as far as the cafe stop.Arriving at the Puddle was pleased to be joined by Bert H out again after his accident a few weeks ago ,this made a nice round total of ten for the day. Just had time to order and sit down when the others began to arrive having ridden at least five miles further. … Read entire article »

CPR awareness training at our March Club Night

A date for your diary! Come along to club night on March 8th where trainers from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance will be carrying out a CPR awareness training session. This is a great opportunity for you to be shown how to do CPR in the comfort of our usual venue  Orsett  Churches Centre  and to practice on a dummy. They will also be bringing some defibrillators to show us how to use those devices we often see in stations, by village halls and in disused telephone boxes. If you have already been on a first aid course, this is an opportunity to refresh your skills, if you haven’t done CPR before, now is your chance to learn. You never know when a friend, relative, work colleague or even a … Read entire article »

This forecast has now been upgraded to a YELLOW WARNING for SNOW from 9 pm tuesday to 11 am wednesday. This has the potential to wipe out our ride on that day.Lets hope they are wrong but do keep a wary eye on the latest forecasts.
