Gateway Sunday Morning 3 Villages+ Ride: 16th October

3 groups today. A longer ride, a recreation ride and this one.

We started off from Bulphan (village 1) with 7 and made our way via Doesgate Lane and Lower Dunton Road towards Horndon (village 2). Unfortunately Jeff felt unwell and parted company before Horndon. Following Orsett Road and Prince Charles Ave. we arrived in Orsett (village 3) and turned toward Bulphan intent on stopping at Young’s cafe (the ‘+’ portion of the title). Somehow we split before the cafe and Steve and I apparently took the shorter route. Alan, Terry, Andy T. and Jane turned up having ridden a different and longer route and we sat in the sun chatting, eating and drinking. We split into 2 groups for the way back – one retracing to Bulphan, Orsett and Grays the other heading towards Pike Lane and all ports west.

I took a different route back from the top of Pike Lane and caught up with the Grays group at the junction with Conway’s Road. Continued on to Grays and beyond where we split up again to go our separate ways.
