REGENTS CANAL RIDE SATURDAY 21 8 2021 – O8.40 GRAYS STATION

Dear All.

I’m planning the above ride this Saturday 21st August 2021. Meet at Grays station 08.40, to catch the 09.00, platform 1, train to West Ham, arrive 09.28. (There’s a partial bus service this Saturday…) Briefly, off at West Ham, down Limehouse Cut to pick up the Regents Canal and on to Primrose Hill for coffee and snacks. On to Little Venice, Paddington, The Royal parks and the Embankment. From here a choice to ride homeward via either the north or south bank of the Thames. The canal path can get a little busy with walkers but we usually get through ok, it’s a slow pleasant ride then speed up later.

Note. If you don’t live around Grays and you’re coming in on the Basildon line or elsewhere… we can wait for you at West Ham. Please Text, WhatsApp or email to keep in touch. The weather’s looking good, though it may change… Take your waterproofs. So hope to see you there. All welcome. Cheers! 🙂

Jon Lane.

Hi Chris, I am an author from Australia trying to contact anyone associated with the Fellowship of Cycling Old Timers to find issue 160 of their Fellowship News – I noticed Gateway Cycling Member Bobs Vintage Velo is a member of the Old Timers so I was hoping you could please send him my request and contact details or anyone else who could help me out, I realise it may no longer be going but am hoping some old members may have some issues of Fellowship News tucked away etc – I think it was about 2004 or 2005? Thanks so much as this is important for a biography I am publishing soon on Sir Bruce Small, who managed Sir Hubert Opperman last century and ran Malvern Star.
