Midweek Ride 4th Dec

Inspite of forecast low temperature seven riders assembled at Orsett today for 10 am departure to Puddledock via Berwich Ponds loop.We managed to stay together as one group at a sensible pace ,not as fast as usual but not particularly slow either, ice on the puddles but the lanes perfectly safe mostly dry with a bit of dampness in the shady areas.Arrived safely at cafe where met Tina who had made way there solo by bike and three more members by car. Pleased to see Joe back with us today as he hasnt been able to make it for a few weeks.Split into three groups for return and the four of us who returned to Orsett enjoyed trouble free trip in glorious sunshine and a balmy 8 degrees.I think we will look back on today as one of the best winter rides ever.Next wednesday is the groups Christmas lunch at Coalhouse Fort for which there is one vacancy due to a cancellation. I shall put a reminder for this event on Whats App and the club website at the weekend.Bob D.
