Bob’s mid week ride 26th September 2018

Another great turnout today, 18 riders plus one by car.This number split into several groups but all arrived at the cafe safely within a few minutes of each other. The outstanding happening was the return to riding of Peter C only a few short weeks after his serious cardiac arrest on a previous wednesday ride and of course we were all so pleased to see him and Theresa back with us again. Lovely sunny weather to enjoy sitting outside at the cafe and up until then everything was going along fine.

Unfortunately on the return through Bulphan one of our members sustained some minor injuries when a careless driver pulled out across the road in front of us and caused a crash. In spite of some bike damage we were able to reach Orsett hospital where our injured rider received treatment at the minor injuries unit.Bike and rider were then returned home by car and hopefully will be fully recovered and back with us very soon. Once again this proves we need to be extra vigilant and alert any where motor vehicles as it seems many drivers seem to be totally oblivious of us cyclists.
