‘National Bike Week’ is closing fast upon us (Saturday 13/6/2015 – Sunday 21/6/2015) and Gateway Cycling is playing its small part in running a few rides throughout… for riders of all abilities. Please see below a summary of events

Sunday 14 June 2015 – 08.30am, Meeting at Blackshots Leisure Centre, Blackshots Lane Grays RM16 2JU. A slow beginners ride along country lanes. About twenty miles.

Sunday 14 June 2015 – 09.30am Location: Bulphan CofE Primary School, Fen Lane Bulphan RM14 3RL. A ride for the slightly more experienced cyclist, going further afield…

Wednesday 17^th June 2015 – 10am Meeting at the Whitmore Arms Rectory Road Orsett RM16 3LB. For cyclists with some experience, heading to Daymns Airfield Upminster, and return – about 26 miles.

Wednesday 17^th June 2015 – Start 7pm at Stanford le Hope railway station. London Road, Stanford-le-Hope, SS17 0JX. An evening family ride – To Thameside Nature Park, Visitors Centre Mucking. A round trip of about five miles.

Wednesday 17^th June 2015 Meeting at 7.15pm Time Trials (TT) Dunnings Lane Bulphan, RM14 3RJ. NOTE. To help get you to Dunnings Lane, a cycle ride leader will leave at 6pm from Blackshots Leisure Centre Grays RM16 2JU. You can choose to watch or even take part in the TT – Are you up for it!? Saturday 20th June 2015 – 10:30am Location: Chalkwell Railway Station, The Ridgeway, Southend on Sea. Seaside family ride suitable for all ages and abilities. The ride will be from Chalkwell to Shoebury and back, stopping for refreshments.

All bicycles should be roadworthy and carry a pump, tyre repair kit, and ideally a spare inner tube. Take a drink, it may be hot. Children under sixteen must be accompanied by a responsible adult, mum and/or dad … and everyone should also wear helmets and bright clothing.
