Cancelled – Club Member First Aid Training

Unfortunately we didn’t reach the numbers that would have made running this particular course cost effective.  We’ll look into this and see what alternative we can offer in the future.

If you attended the AGM you will know that we will soon have our first club members attending British Cycling coaching courses. A prerequisite for this course is an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. Instead of only first aid training these coaches we would like to offer this training to all Club Members as we believe that first aid trained members are a valuable asset for a club to have. Places are limited and are offered on a first come first served basis. This course will be subsidised and all we ask is a £10 deposit (non-returnable) to secure your place and cover the cost of hiring the venue.

Emergency First Aid at Work is a six hour course that will run over two evenings, Thursday 12th and Wednesday 18th March, 6pm to 9pm at the Beehive in Grays. You will need to attend both sessions. The room will be open from 5.45pm and training will start promptly at 6pm. The venue has plenty of car parking space and is just a short walk from Grays railway station.  The start time for this may be difficult for some of you due to work commitments but if you explain to your employer the benefits of you having this training I’m sure they would be accommodating.

If you would like to participate and can attend both sessions then please (login and) complete the form below and we’ll email you back to confirm you have a place and to arrange payment. (You could bring this payment along to the Club Run on Sunday if you wish)

• Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure).

• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from Shock.
