Gateway Summer Time Trial Series – Week 11

It was a very warm 24 degrees this evening and thirteen riders tried their hand at pedalling like a madman around the TT course.

Josh S was the only newbie tonight and put in a very nice time of 19.04, I’m sure you can get in the 18’s next week Josh?
There were 4 PB’s tonight from Chris M (old one, not the new one), Chris P, Matt S, and Sam B, well done all.
Good efforts were put in by several other riders just missing their PB’s by single figures, John W missed his by one second!. As the series goes on it seems to get harder to shave off a few seconds which shows how hard everybody is riding. Ours may be a small event but people are really giving it a go.

Next week Fen lane is closed from 08:00-15:30 on Monday 4th, to Wednesday 6th for roadworks. If they are going to spray it with tar and just coat it with loose gravel like they have done around the Viper race circuit, we will have to think about whether the TT goes ahead next week as this is difficult to safely ride on, especially on the corners. I will drive around the course late afternoon next Wednesday and post on the forum as to whether we will go ahead or not. Please check the forum before coming down to Dunnings Lane.
