Gateway Summer Time Trial Series – Week 8

Move along now, there’s nothing to see here….

No really, there’s nothing to see!

It was a dismal evening for July, chilly, cloudy, and windy. The wind was gusting quite a lot and blowing riders all over the place, the BBC London website said the wind was blowing at 15mph but I’m sure that the gusts were more than that. That said, 8 riders braved it to have a go, they must have some Belgian genes in them somewhere!

We had one new rider, Chris M, a new Chris M, not our usual one (I was going to say our old one!), welcome to the TT Chris.

There were a few long faces when the times were read out as nobody recorded a PB, for example; Paul E was wondering what happened to him after smashing his best time by nearly 30 seconds the week before, but these were pretty reasonable times considering the conditions, with the smaller/lighter riders suffering more than most.

Thanks go to Colin for again being the Dunnings lane marshal.

The weather forecast for next Wednesday is looking better though, with a temperature of 24 degrees and light winds.

See you all next week.
