This is the actual bike on which local (Corringham) rider Vic Gibbons won the 1953 British Time Trial Championship. Vic won again in 1955 and was second several times. He also won British Best All-Rounder 1953 and 1954. His team, from the Brentwood Road Club, also won many national Time Trial Championships. The Winter Time Trial – Round 1 – Results

Saturday’s time trial was certainly sponsored by rain…. (The canopy on my van was certainly my best asset today) A pretty horrid day for it but yet 5 plucky people turned up ready to set the first time of the season. All got round safe. Two new faces turned up and they seemed to be keen to have another go in a months time!! Dr Bike – Rainham Marshes – Sunday 6th December

On Sunday 6th December Dr Bike will be at the RSPB in Purfeet. They will check over your bike and make any simple adjustments and repairs: such as fixing punctures, tuning gears, checking headsets and fitting new brake blocks. The Club Welfare Officer’s role is to promote the club/organisation’s policy and procedures for the protection of children and vulnerable adults. Winter TT 2015/16

Well it’s raining and it’s cold which means one thing only, the Saturday morning winter time trials are back! Standard features apply, I will be time keeping and any Marshalls are gratefully received. For those who are reading this for the first time. Meet in bulphan hall car park and then it’s a smidgen under ten miles down fen lane and back up clay tie hill returning back over the start finish line. This is a great way to keep yourself ticking over the winter months. Always a Saturday morning, sign on at 9:15 first rider off at 9:30.
