Typical Wednesday Gateway Berwick Ponds Ride

The typical Wednesday Berwick Ponds Ride starts off a little disjointed. It depends who is talking to whom and about what. We start at around 10 o’clock and in several groups, making our way to the main reason for the ride – the Puddledock Cafe lunchtime break. The full route is as shown on the map but there are various shorter options and alternatives. … Read entire article »

Sunday 10th July Recreation Ride to Barleylands

Sunday 10th July Recreation Ride to Barleylands

About twenty of us gathered at Bulphan on a perfect sunny Sunday morning. The slightly speedier riders set off as usual and us leisure riders at a steadier pace. Ably led by Dave, along with newcomers Jane and Hanh, with Terry and me. Out towards Dunton’s back lanes and through the ‘caravan park’ to Laindon with its ever changing building developments. Crossing the bridge over the A127 and on to Noak Bridge. A left turn … Read entire article »

A lovely sunny Sunday morning ride. We split into 2 groups of 6 or 7 and made our own way to Hyde Hall (although both groups went the same way!) We set off from Bulphan via Doesgate Lane and Lower Dunton Road where we picked up Chris Garside waiting for us to go by. Onward to pass the Boot Sale and then up Little Burstead Hill through Billericay to Goatsmoor Lane and towards Stock, working … Read entire article »

EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

Gateway Cycling EGM Friday 8th July 2022 Orsett Churches Centre 7:30 pm. You may know that following several recent requests for a volunteer, we have been unable to find someone to fill the post of Treasurer for the club. The good news is that with a bit of lateral thinking, Jeff Bell has stepped aside as Chairman to act as Treasurer and Alan Hale has agreed to become the Chairman. Without the 3 executive positions being filled, the … Read entire article »

THURROCK CYCLE MARATHON

THURROCK CYCLE MARATHON

An excellent turn out by Gateway and the inhabitants of Thurrock and surrounding areas to take part in the first TCM charity ride in several years. The weather was good and members completed one of the three options of the race i.e. 7 miles, 21 miles or 42 miles. I think a very good day was had by all. Videos from Thurrock Nub News and Tim Baxendale on Facebook show images of the start (which have … Read entire article »
