Ride Report – Newbie, Beginners and Family Ride – Sun 12th April

Nine of us met up this morning outside Blackshots Leisure Centre, 6 members and 3 newbies. Jon L was our assistant for the morning – keeping an eye open for our peloton from the rear.

These nippy spring mornings make it very difficult in deciding what to wear – the sun played it’s part and we soon warmed up as we headed for Bulphan via Orsett. We had only missed, by minutes, the 9 o’clock ‘Blue Train’ which had met up earlier at our regular Sunday Bulphan meeting place.

At Bulphan we decided that we were all wanting to keep riding and enjoy the spring sunshine – so we headed for the café at Puddledock. What a lovely place – I can see why this is fast becoming a local watering hole for Gateway riders – on these kind of rides we’ll be calling in more often. After eats and drinks we returned to Blackshots.

Great company and a great ride – thanks to all 🙂
