Gateway Recreation Ride: Kent

Event Date: 4 Jul 2015 - 10:00
Location: Tilbury Landing Stage, Ferry Road, Tilbury

Details:

This is a popular recreation ride that takes us away from Essex and into the quiet lanes of Kent

We’ll meet up at the landing stage in Tilbury at 10.00am to catch the ferry to Gravesend. From there it is a short ride mainly off road and on quiet roads to our first cafe stop at Cliffe Nature Park. We will ride through Cliffe Woods onto Rochester with its magnificent cathedral and castle for another stop.
Returning we will pass by Upnor Castle on the way back to Gravesend.

This will be a gentle ride of about 25-30 miles at a pace of around 10 mph with some hills.
Recommended for hybrids and mtbs as some of the route is off road and along badly maintained roads.
Please expect busy traffic as we approach Rochester

Your bike must be roadworthy. You should also have a pump, puncture repair kit and a spare inner tube. We also recommend that you bring a drink.

There are no age restrictions for this event but we would suggest that this ride is suitable for aged 14+.
Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We will update this page if the event has to be cancelled.
