Gateway Annual Hill Climb 2016 – Sunday 6th November

For the fourth year running we will be using Childerditch Lane again for our hill climb, it will start at 10:00 at the bottom of Childerditch Lane on the north (Brentwood) side of the A127, and is for club members only. Although it’s a hill climb, it isn’t too severe and is suitable for all types of riders, and it would be good to see the ‘easy’ ride group and the ‘beginners’ have a go. The women’s section of the club is usually under represented at our hill climb as well, so come on girls get your climbing legs on!It’s about participating, not winning!

We will meet at the School in Bulphan for 9:30 if anyone wants to meet us at the start that’s fine.

For anyone that doesn’t know Childerditch Lane, you go down Dunnings Lane (where the summer TT starts), then straight across the crossroad and over the bridge. When you come to the A127 the start is just across the road. For those who are of a nervous disposition and don’t fancy crossing the A127, ride up the A128 to the other side of the roundabout, then use the footpath.

The finish line will be at the car park at the top of Childerditch Lane (between Magpie Lane and Home Farm Road). There are no facilities for parking a car near the start line as it’s quite a narrow road, and riders need to make sure they stay safe at the side of the road. For those who wish to come by car, park at the finish car park and ride down to the start.

After the hill climb we’ll set off for a club ride as normal, destination to be decided on the morning (usually a ride to Blackmore or Norton Heath).

For any non-members thinking of joining us for the club run, meet us at the church at 9:30 or the car park/finish line.
