Damyns Hall Aerodrome Recreation Ride – Sunday 7th September

Four riders started from Grays and met up with five more at Bulphan for the ride to Damyns Hall airfield. It was a pleasure to see some new faces riding with us for the first time. I hope they enjoyed themselves and that they will join us again on future rides.

There was a classic car and vintage day at the airfield. There were numerous classic cars to look at along as the aircraft taking off and landing. Our attention was grabbed by a lady strapped to the top of a bi plane as it flew around the airfield.

Leaving Upminster the group split, some returning back towards home whilst five of us continued to complete the full route via Rainham and along the riverfront up to Purfleet before returning to Grays. The total ride was 30 miles covered in nice weather in good company. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the ride and will come again.
