Gateway Summer Time Trial – Week 13

Only 7 riders tonight, where have all last year’s riders gone?

Although tonight was a bit windy, it looked like the heavens may have opened any minute, and there was the uncertainty about the Fen Lane road surface, so 7 wasn’t a bad turnout this evening.

We had one new rider tonight, Rose E (Mrs Chairman!), who did a very commendable 24.26. Not bad for someone who is new to cycling, well done Rose. Of the others, nobody had a PB tonight, although Kev C (4 seconds slower), and Chris P (9 seconds slower), were very close. Matt S, Paul E, Alex M, and Rob G, gave it their all but there was a headwind along St Marys Lane again which seems to be the worst conditions for fast times.

Thanks go to Trevor and Dave L for marshalling tonight. Thanks also to Richard E for assisting the timekeeper, and to Gary E for keeping him under control! 🙂

Next Wednesday (20th August) will be the last summer TT for this year, this is because the nights are drawing in now and we’d like riders to get home safely after the TT.
Come along and have a bash at the last one, even if you haven’t done one this year you can get a benchmark time to compare yourself against for next summer.
